Ali Ramos, LCSW
I was born and raised in Amarillo, TX which heightens my passion for equitable mental healthcare. I graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Social Work degree and am a licensed clinical social worker. I’m a queer, disabled therapist with 37 years of lived experience. I'm also a graphic designer and have several years of experience with creating logos, promotional materials, and custom vector illustrations. I love to incorporate expressive art and design into my therapeutic practice.
I am a member of several nonprofit boards which focus on disability and oppressed population issues. Due to my neuromuscular disability, I feel that this has given me the ability to adapt to societal pressures and gives me a unique perspective on client care. I take pride in showing others how to successfully navigate a system that was not made for people with disabilities.

I am not differently abled, handicapable, special needs, or confined to a wheelchair. I’m disabled. My wheelchair is my freedom, not a hindrance or a burden. My needs aren’t special. They’re just needs. Disabled is not a bad word. It’s an identity of mine and it’s taught me more than I ever would have learned without it. Being disabled isn’t the toughest part of this life. It’s the emotional work that it takes to get a voice in the mental health field and with society at large.

I am available for individual therapy (ages 16 through 70+) along with consulting opportunities for program development and creating more equitable and inclusive environments. In order to request a consultation, please send an email to contact@aliramostherapy.com or call/text
